Footstool Company, Footstool Factory, Too Good For Fido and Fluffy

When I wanted to prop my feet up at the end of the day, the thing was always covered with old newspapers, a tennis racket or snoozing animal. I'd just settle for putting my feet up on the couch. Then, to the dismay of the pets, I went shopping. In the furniture store showroom I saw so many wonderful footstools in such a variety of styles and fabrics, I knew I had to have one. I knew, too, that I wasn't going to share this one with them.

I finally chose a new footstool in beautiful tufted leather. It's perfect with my living room, adding refinement to my somewhat eclectic tastes. Not fifteen minutes after I put the old one out in the garage and positioned my new one in the spot next to my wing chair, the dog promptly sniffed it and prepared to jump up on it for a nap. I shooed it away. Another minute passed and there was the cat, equally intent upon claiming it for a bed. Again, I swatted it off. This would have been the end if I didn't own two of them most tenacious animals in the world.

Finally, I had to compromise. I pulled the old footstool in out of the garage and put it in a spot where the sun comes in from a bay window. Now both cat and dog can nap on their own footstool in the sun, and leave the people footstool for my tired feet. Having two footstools in a room instead of one is a small price to pay for the privilege of owning such a lovely prop for my feet, and keeping peace in with the true rulers of my home.
