One question I get all the time is " Why do I need an alarm system? I have lots of good hiding places in my home." My usual response is, "So, you think you have the perfect hiding place for your valuables? Under the bed ... between the mattresses ... your underwear drawer ... even the freezer, right?" The truth is that for every secret spot you have, thieves know to check there AND a dozen other places you've never even thought of.
And besides, a professional thief will “case†your home long before breaking in. Thanks to today's technology and the tendency of homeowners to leave their wireless computer systems unsecured, a thief can sit at the end of your driveway and learn all he needs to know about your habits, your latest online purchases and the credit cards you used to make them, and anything else that you might unknowingly reveal when your guard is down. Even with all of your precautions, you're still leaving yourself wide open for a burglary.
These are just a few of the many reasons why it's time for you to think seriously about a quality home security alarm system. Stopping thieves dead in their tracks before they can enter your home and turn your life upside down is the only way to truly protect yourself and those you love.

Until recently, most Americans had never heard of bed bugs. You might run across an occasional reference to bed bugs while reading a book about life aboard the ships of 17th century explorers or a novel set in the squalid cities of the 19th century Industrial Revolution; but most people dismissed bed bugs with body lice and human fleas as problems of earlier, less sanitary eras in human history. However, despite their exceedingly rare occurrence in the United States for the past half century, prior to World War II bed bugs were fairly common household pests. That old bedtime ditty "Sleep tight; don't let the bed bugs bite" wasn't just a silly rhyme your grandmother repeated when she kissed you goodnight, it was rooted in the American life experience prior to 1950. The development of powerful synthetic pesticides during World War II effectively eliminated the bed bug problem in the U.S. and most industrialized countries, although bed bugs have remained problematic in less developed nations.
A persistent scourge throughout recorded human history, new research indicates that bed bugs may have developed in the Mediterranean area from bat parasites, gradually migrating to the humans that shared their caves. As man moved out of caves and across the continents, bed bugs moved with their human hosts. Traders and sea-faring explorers eventually spread bed bugs to the most remote corners of the world. Bed bugs are now found around the world wherever humans live and continue to spread with their human hosts.
Entomologists believe that increased international air travel, made affordable by fare reductions after the 1990s deregulation of the airline industry, has played a major role in the resurgence of bed bugs in North America, Europe and Australia. By the late 1990s, bed bug infestations in the U.S. were being reported in the international gateway cities of New York, San Francisco and Miami. The exponential growth of these prolific insects has allowed U.S. bed bug populations to increase by 500% in just a few years with bed bugs now found in all 50 states. Although their reappearance on the U.S. insect scene seems sudden to a generation of Americans who are unfamiliar with this pest, bed bugs have been man's common bedfellow for centuries.

Insurance is very important, especially if you own a business. With a good insurance policy, you protect both your business and the welfare of your clients. The reason why is because your provider takes over in the event something bad happens. They would be the ones responsible for the $10K, $100K or even $1 million settlements…amounts that an ordinary business could not afford.
The situation becomes even more critical for companies involved with hospitality. Whether someone is running a nightclub or a hotel, there is an increased chance of a liability claim. But if you have hotel insurance, your financial interests are protected, regardless of what happens. Even if the judge finds your company at fault, your provider will still cover the settlement.
The same is also true for nightclub insurance. These policies are similar to hotel insurance, in that they cover a larger range of liabilities. However, they are different enough that they should still be purchased separately. The only exception is if the nightclub is actually part of the hotel. In that situation, the owner might be able to get an all-in-one discount if they purchase both policies from the same company.

If you've been in the market for a new bed recently, you've probably encountered double mattresses. But just what are they? Many people picture a block of rubber when they think about sleeping on double, but that's far from the truth. These mattresses are actually a type of foam - more like memory foam than something rubbery - and they can be a great way to get a good night's sleep. Let's check out double foam mattresses, how they're made, and how they can affect your sleep.
First, you should realize that while double mattress is often advertised as being ecologically friendly, they're going to vary by manufacturer and model. Foam comes in natural and synthetic types. Natural foam is a product of rubber trees, while synthetic double is made in labs. Natural foam can be grown organically and produced in a way that's non-damaging to the environment, but it isn't always.
In addition, a little bit of synthetic material is always included as part of the process of making the foam. Pricier methods may be more environmentally responsible, so a costlier double mattress might be a better choice for those concerned about the environment. Do your research, though - don't just trust what the manufacturer's marketing department has to say.
